Rail Cam Technical Specifications expanded upon below for your benefit
A: Push Rail Cam around your entire layout with your favorite engine and capture your entire layout from the rails. Positioning Rail Cam in the middle of your rolling stock creates a nice effect especially looking ahead around curves. Putting Rail Cam at the end of your train creates another interesting view. Finally, park Rail Cam on a side track and video your trains and trolley going by. Note: Engine not included.
B: Unlike some competitive products, Rail Cam gets its power from a Battery Pack (B), not from the track. This is a big plus. The camera won’t lose power and create a snowy VHS image when you cross 022 switch tracks or pass over 45 or 90 degree cross tracks. Another good reason for a Battery Pack is that some layouts with block control reduce, or turn off, the track power while the engine is stopped. Rail Cam’s Battery Pack, with 4 alkaline batteries included, provides up to 4 hours of video time to capture your entire layout.
C: An AC Adaptor (not shown) to the Battery Pack is also provided. Simply remove the one-inch battery adaptor (C) shown above, insert the AC line cord, turn the battery switch to off, plug the AC Adaptor into an outlet so you can walk around the perimeter of your layout with Rail Cam in your hand and get aerial shots of your layout using AC electrical power and conserve your batteries. Note: Because of this flexibility, you are not limited to only using Rail Cam for your electric trains…bring Rail Cam to a party and Rail Cam becomes Party Cam!!! If your wife says $269 bucks is too high, tell her she can bring Rail Cam to a Baby Shower or Bachlorette Party or Grandma’s 75th birthday party! Use for home security too!
D: This POWERFUL 2.4 GHz Transmitter (D) broadcasts a wireless video and audio signal to the Video Receiver unit (not shown), which easily attaches to any video device using the included RCA jacks. Enjoy crisp clear video being transmitted up to several 100 feet away unobstructed by walls, ceiling, furniture or floors! Simply place the Receiver by your TV, VCR or DVD recorder. Note: You can edit your video with your software.
E: The secret behind the amazing Rail Cam Camera (F) is its highly integrated design. Some competitive products have a 90-degree lens. We spent additional dollars and provide you with a WideEye 120-degree lens that is already pre-focused. In addition, this camera has a camera light sensitivity of 3 Lux (Best)- competitors claim 10 Lux. Our standard camera delivers color video and also has a built in microphone for audio. You will love hearing your MTH Protosounds and Lionel RailSounds when watching your video that you directed and produced!
F: Last but perhaps should be first, the Rail Cam system comes mounted on a very nice 1950/60’s clean, restored, and lubricated Lionel or American Flyer or Athearn Flatcar. Unlike some competitive products that ask you to furnish the mount car, and even charge you to mount it with their components, Rail Cam provides the car and installation all at no additional cost, and at a very reasonable price!
